On meridian-traceless SU(2)–representations of link groups

چکیده
Suppose L is a link in S3. We show that π1(S3−L) admits an irreducible meridian-traceless representation SU(2) if and only not the unknot, Hopf link, or connected sum of links. As corollary, neither unknot nor link. This result generalizes theorem Kronheimer Mrowka to case

Link Groups of 4-manifolds
We introduce the notion of a flexible 2 -cell and use it to define invariants – link groups – of 4 -manifolds. Flexible cells combine some features of both surfaces and handlebodies, therefore the link group λ(M) measures certain aspects of the handle structure of a 4 -manifold M . This group is a quotient of the fundamental group, and we construct examples of manifolds M with π1(M) 6= λ(M) . M...
متن کاملStudy on stability of DMS meridian detector.
The stability of meridian detector was the basis to study meridian through conductance method. Ancient documents mentioned that the human body's blood could change with the time and meridians. When qi and blood came, the qi and blood would be full of that place; when qi and blood gone, the local skin shining could fade and recess. It liked the tidal fluctuation, then caused the corresponding ac...
متن کاملHyperbolic Alternating Virtual Link Groups
We study the topology and geometry of virtual link complements and groups. We show that the groups defined by the Wirtinger presentation of certain prime dense alternating virtual links are CAT(0) and hyperbolic. MSC: 57M05, 57M50, 20F65, 20F67.
متن کاملLink Groups and Alexander Duality
The A−B slice problem is a reformulation of the topological 4−dimensional surgery conjecture, in terms of smooth decompositions of the 4−ball. This paper applies the theory of link groups of 4−manifolds, recently developed by the author [9], to formulate a candidate for an obstruction in the A − B slice program. The strength of this invariant is illustrated by the theorem that it provides an ob...
متن کاملThe use of carboxylic acids as traceless directing groups for regioselective C-H bond functionalisation.
The ability to selectively functionalise a specific C-H bond is a long-standing challenge due to the ubiquity of such bonds in organic molecules. One of the most common approaches to overcome this obstacle consists of installing directing groups into substrates to direct the functionalisation towards the desired C-H bond, leaving behind the directing group in the molecule. Alternatively, carbox...
